Our Mission & Vision

By connecting international volunteers with students in conflict-affected regions, STEPS of Change aims to contribute to their education and foster equity. Volunteers equip them with essential 21st-century skills like collaboration, communication, and cultural understanding, through the world’s most widely spoken language.

Additionally, STEPS of Change serves as a bridge, enabling volunteers from across the globe to contribute to the growth and development of disadvantaged students by dedicating just a few hours a week.

STEPS of Change not only positively influences the education of Middle Eastern (Palestinian, Syrian, and Lebanese refugees specifically) and Ukrainian children but also takes a meaningful “step” towards fostering dialogue, understanding, and a path to international connections.

The Benefits of STEPS of Change:

The STEPS of Change program offers students more than just English lessons; it provides a foundation for hope, well-being, and opportunity. By engaging children in positive learning activities, the program instills hope for better days ahead and helps them believe in the possibility of a brighter future, even in challenging circumstances. Over time, students are empowered with language skills that open doors to better educational and career opportunities, ultimately improving their standard of living.

Additionally, the program offers a psychological benefit by acting as a healthy distraction from the constant stress these children experience. Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, students participate in something enjoyable and meaningful, which contributes positively to their emotional well-being.
